CTMH Incentive Trip to Hawaii

There is nothing as rewarding as earning an incentive trip with your company- this is my third such trip and the first one where we took the whole family. What a wonderful way for me and CTMH to thank my family for supporting me- my husband for hauling boxes in and out of my car, my kids for allowing people to come into our home for workshops and meetings and for allowing me to use their pictures in all my art (like they have a choice on that one LOL).

This last year I had earned the trip of a lifetime- to Hawaii to stay at the Disney Resort, Aulani (yes they have a resort and it is FABULOUS!).

We had a wonderful, fun and relaxing week- mostly spent at the resort as there was lots to do there but we did venture out (in my first pic we are at the Polynesian Cultural Centre- a MUST do if you visit the island of Oahu).

My daughter got to meet Minnie Mouse- this was her highlight- she LOVES all things Minnie and we used this trip as our key to good behaviour and toilet training (she trained in a week cause she was told she could only go see Minnie if she was using the potty).

We all meet Mickey- Austin is not pictured because he was still in pre-teen-no-photo-mood at this point. It quickly wore off as he was caught up in the fun.

Here are all the lucky earners of this trip- what a fabulous group of ladies!

Hawaii Earners

Next trip is a cruise to the Eastern Carribbean- I am already well on the way to earning that one.   So, to all of you I say THANK YOU! If it was not for your support in my business I would not have earned any of my trips- thanks for being wonderful customers and wonderful team members!

Family Friday: Montgomery’s on the Move

IMG_3948

I am DELIGHTED to share that we are on the move… after a year and a half of trying to sell our cute little house we have finally been successful and were able to land the house of our dreams (pictured below!).  We wanted this house for as long as ours has been for sale and thought many times that we were going to lose it but in the end everything worked out!

I am excited for the move (especially since we only have a month to get it all done and with two busy kids that is not going to be easy!).

I am also excited for new memories to be made, my new craft room (a dedicated room with a door!) and space to host workshops and team meetings once again!

October 30th cannot come soon enough!

‘Thrive-ing’ in Canada with CTMH

IMG_3680

Last weekend my team had our Thrive Celebration- although we made this event a full weekend event it started out as an incentive that CTMH offered teams. We had 5 categories in which we had to qualify and as a team we worked hard and did it! These categories were not easy and every person on my team worked really hard over the qualifying period… and then we waited to have a corporate presenter come to us and teach and inspire us!

Fast forward to last weekend- 55 ladies joined us for a full weekend of crafting and another 20 joined us for the 5 hour portion lead by our corporate VP, Kristine Widtfeldt and Tiffany Young from the Events department. We were ‘cozy’ but had so much fun!!!

No event is complete without a photo booth- props were courtesy of our Artbooking cartridge!

IMG_3688

and my events NEVER happen without the most amazing cookies baked and decorated by my sister-in-law, Leann.  Yummy and pretty! We had a travel theme to our weekend so the little CTMH airplanes were the perfect accessory.

Here I am with a team member (Jennifer in the glasses) and the two corporate staffers- Tiffany on the far left and Kristine next to her. This actually turned out to be Kristine’s last event with us at CTMH- she hadn’t yet told anyone that she was moving on to a new company.  We will sadly miss her- so much fun and energy! I know she is leaving because it was the right move for her family and career and CTMH is a strong company that will go on but it is hard to see someone leave who has been such a asset for 10 years. (The selfish me hopes she misses us and comes back!).

AND here is my THRIVING team!!!

We are thriving and growing and I am so proud of each member of my fabulous group! Our whole team is over 400 members strong so this is just a small portion but each person’s efforts are truly appreciated and valued!

Lastly, a big THANKS to all who came, contributed and helped throughout the event! A special big thanks to those ladies who flew in! We had ladies from PEI, Nova Scotia, Northern Ontario, Manitoba and Alberta fly to be with us for the weekend!

Family Friday: Cardiac Kids BBQ

IMG_3363

Although being a Mom of a child with a congenital heart defect is never a ‘walk in the park’ it certainly can make for a really fun day at the park!  ESPECIALLY when we are invited to a family BBQ with Cardiac Kids- an organization that supports the cardiac kids and families at Sick Kids Hospital in Toronto. Austin was born with an aeortic stenosis- a valve defect that last year needed to be addressed through valve replacement surgery. He did great and ended up the proud owner of a ‘donor’ valve- he now considers himself part Zombie!!

My sweet boy does not like photos so at the beginning of this BBQ he would NOT pose for any photos- by the end of the afternoon all the fun was taking effect and I got a few in- of course his little sister was only too happy to smile for some photos- especially when with her favourite friends!

IMG_3372 IMG_3378

Here is my cardiac kid climbing a volcano- he was determined to make it to the very top! The first try he was close. Second try he did it and was VERY proud!

IMG_3395

Some yummy cotton candy and a trip to the velcro wall! He even made a new friend – we had such a great time and cannot wait for next year!

Thanks Cardiac Kids!!

Family Friday: the Zoo

A fun family day at the Zoo (well minus Daddy who had to work)- what could be better?

This is a local zoo, small but perfect for a quick visit (especially if you have young kids as there is not much walking here).  Ellery has never been to the zoo (well she went to the Toronto Zoo at 9 months but I doubt she remembers any of that).  She was excited and so was Austin. He acts like the big, tough guy but he LOVES animals (especially birds of prey).

They were excited to get started- we bought some food to feed a few of the animals and that was definitely a highlight. Did you know that giraffe’s love banana peel??

IMG_3017

Highlight for Ellery was riding the horse- she had to have the purple one. Threw me for a loop until I noticed the purple blanket. (Cause purple and pink are her favourite colours).

Love summer fun- and one more thing checked off from the summer bucket list!

Family Friday: Canada Day Fun!

I have decided to share some of the fun and crazy adventures that my family has- on family fridays! These posts won’t be regular but will allow you to get to know me and my gang just a little bit more.  I hope you enjoy them 🙂

IMG_2620

Canada Day was a while ago (July 1st for anyone not Canadian who follows) and I returned home just in time to celebrate with my crew.  Every year we participate in the full assortment of events (even though this year I was really feeling the jet lag or just exhaustion from my trip).  We went down to our local park and watched the parade, took park in the free kid activities and the midway and of course, returned later that evening for the fireworks!

IMG_2621

This is my youngest, Ellery (almost three). Pretty cute, right?

IMG_2648

Here are both my kids- Austin is 10 and is not always willing to participate in a photo. Currently my albums look like I only have one child… I hope he grows out of it! Lucky me though, he didn’t notice so I grabbed a pic of him and Ellery on the boats- I LOVE this because it shows just what a great brother to her he is. He is loving, helpful and takes such good care of her (they do have their moments but overall the age gap between them worked out great!).

IMG_2657

Another! I tell you he was in a good mood that day!

Ellery also was able to experience midway rides for the first time- she loved them… little daredevil!
