January Cross Canada Blog Hop

Welcome to a new year and a NEW SEASONAL EXPRESSIONS BOOK!!

If you are coming to me on our blog hop via Dominique’s blog then you are on the right path.

Today our blog hop will feature some of our favourite items from the new seasonal book. Unfortunately, I don’t have a favourite…

because I love it all!

For this blog hop I focused on the Make Waves paper. I also used the Make Waves sequins and gems (the sequins are little flowers- so cute!!), the teal shimmer trim, vellum and the Make Waves Scrapbooking Stamp set.  I love this dreamy little card set!

Below is a look at each card.

For my ‘Bloom’ card I created a shimmery paint splash by mixing shimmer pen with some reinker and then splashing it across my card base. Make sure to use a clean paint brush to splash!

Our seasonal expressions idea book is not just for shopping – have you seen the artwork tips located throughout? This ‘Dream’ card using the mermaid tail effect featured on page 29 of the book- LOVE it for cards and it is also great on scrapbook pages.

This card is my favourite of the three. I love the Mermaid that is a stamp in the Make Waves scrapbooking stamp set. For this card I stamped two layers. The mermaid, seaweed and bubbles are stamped on cardstock and located underneath the vellum. On the vellum I stamped my sentiment. This added a softer feel which was perfect for the illusion of being underwater.

If you wish to purchase any of these items you will find them on my SHOP or you can contact your CTMH consultant.

September Stamp of the Month

Have you seen our September Stamp of the Month yet?  Paper Garden is perfect for fall cards and layouts (and can be used in many other ways!).  The stamp set also coordinates with our Cricut Artistry cartridge which allows you to cut your flowers out and stamp faster, simpler and easier!

Here I paired the stamp set with our Nevermore paper- that’s right, the halloween themed paper can be used for more than just halloween! Both cards feature some of the patterned paper and cardstock from the Nevermore paper pack.   Sticking with the purples and greys allows for a pretty card that is not overly feminine (even with the flowers added).

You’re the ‘BALM’ card

WARNING!! What I am about to show you is HIGHLY addicting!!

I wanted to share with you a stamp we currently have that is LIMITED in how long we will be offering it AND goes to a great cause- Operation Smile! $3.00 from the sale of every ‘You’re the Bomb’ stamp set goes straight to Operation Smile- a charity that CTMH has supported for years!  I encourage you to check out the charity here! They tell their story much better than I ever could.

Upon setting out to create with this cute set (to inspire you to support Operation Smile) I came across the idea that I warned you about.. it is highly addictive!!!

Remember I warned you!!!

You may have already seen the EOS holders that are hitting the internet. They are all the rage in one of the Cricut groups I belong too. They are fun, simple to make (or not) and are the coolest little gift! The BOMB stamp set became the inspiration for this play-on-words card- You are the BALM!

But of course I couldn’t stop there…

EOS cupcake… what a lovely cherry on top!

EOS Minnie (my Minnie loving girl was so excited about this one!)

and believe me when I tell you I WILL be making more!

(Now I am not a Cricut expert and JUST started using my explore and design space but I will tell you that the circle I placed in the EOS area was 1.5 inches wide.  I did a lot of google searches and found some helpful videos showing you how to make these holders… youtube is so very helpful!)

Happy Holidays! using Artfully Sent

artfully sent phone booth- tardis

Just want to wish you a Happy Holiday Season with a cute card from Artfully Sent! If you are a fan of Dr. Who you will REALLY like this one!

I used the phone booth card (see below) and cut outdoor denim paper instead of the red. I had to look up a picture of the Tardis (to make sure I had the colours correct). I went through all my current Christmas stamps and found a sentiment that sounded very ‘British’ to me. I was very happy with the result!

I hope each and every one of you have a wonderful holiday season- make LOTS of magical memories and spend quality time with your loved ones!

You’ve Got a Friend in Me – May Blog Hop

I think we are all familiar with the song from Toy Story that you are probably singing in your head right now…. and if you weren’t I likely just changed that- you are welcome!  I also welcome you to our May blog hop which will feature our stamp set of the same name and LOTS of ideas for how you can use it!   If you have come from Melinda’s Blog then you are on the right path and all you need to do is read on and click the link at the bottom of my page.you're the best free to be card

For my card I used the National Scrapbooking month paper ‘Free to be Me’.  I added some gold shimmer trim (left over from a past project) and a green sparkle for accessories.  My centre shape was cut using the Cricut Art Philosophy.  The feathers added are from the ‘Feathers’ stamp set.

Here is a similar card but more simplified- it is what my party guests will be making this month.  The biggest difference with this one is the use of the gold polka dot washi tape to adorn the card.

Timberline Card in a Box

Recently the lady I usually deal with at my local post office told me she was retiring- she was so very excited to be setting off from her career and taking time to live in their camper at their camp site.  She told me about the RV she had just purchased with her husband and their plans for the future.  I see this lady at least once a week and she is always friendly, happy and willing to share a laugh- I will miss her! Hearing her plans set some things in action for me…. I knew I had some creating to do and this is what the result was!

Card in a box

A card in a box (these are so fun! They are a card that folds flat and fits in a 6×6 envelope) featuring our Camper Crazy stamp set.  I used Timberline paper for by card and some of the stamps and accessories that come in the Timberline workshop on the go kit- in all honestly these pieces were leftovers from the kit that I had already put together (that is just how much you get!)

Here is a side view that should help you see how it is put together- to create one I just googled ‘card in a box’ and found a tutorial that walked me through it- they are very easy and super-fun!
