Lollydoodle Layout

Lollydoodle is certainly one of the most popular paper kits this Idea book- the whimsical and beautiful spring colours work for so many different layouts.  Although the kit seems to have a lot of pinks- many of the flip side of those pieces are more neutral colours and one of the patterned pieces is blue with a green flip side- definitely a kit that can be used for boys and girls!

This Lollydoodle layout was created using the following products:

  • Lollydoodle paper pack
  • Lollydoodle Complements
  • Lollydoodle Assortment
  • Chocolate woodgrain washi tape
  • pink glitter gems

The layout pattern itself was one I found on pinterest (you can follow my pinterest boards if you look at the bar on the right and click on the pinterest link you see there).  The cuts for this layout were all very simple- I did cut the circle on my cricut (all of our cartridges have a circle and square image for simplicity purposes) but you can use whatever tool you have for creating circles.

Sunshine and Warm Breezes Blog Hop

I am sure not all my readers have had a winter similar to mine but also know that many of you have- the cold was VERY cold and the snow just piled up and piled up and …. well, you get the idea! Now here I sit half way through March and spring should be in sight! I am hopeful that April will dawn with green grass and flowers pushing their way up through warm soil- ahhh!  For now seek some solitude in the ‘Sunshine and Warm Breezes’  Team Blog Hop where members of my team (the Brae-er’s) will each share  project on this theme that uses Close to my Heart products!

How does a hop work? Just read my blog, leave some love in the comments and click on the link at the bottom directing you to the next person in the hop!  Have fun!

miss you boat card

I love how this cute card turned out! I used a mix of papers from Lollydoodle and Balloon Ride- with some Kraft paper mixed in.  The card itself was very simple- I cut some triangles with my paper trimmer, the base of the boat is a circle cut in half and the waves are from the CTMH Cricut Artbooking cartridge.

Embossing with Ink using the CTMH Embossing Folders

Today I am going to share with you a new technique: Embossing with Ink! I am also going to share with you the Damask Folder we have- very pretty!!

Embossing with ink is a very simple technique and only requires you to have the embossing folder of your choice, some ink (I recommend our dye based ink for these projects as they are easier to clean up than the pigment) and your project paper.

emboss with ink 1

Open your folder and rub ink on the side of your choice- for my card I chose to rub the ink on the raised damask pattern (you will get a different look depending which side you use ink on so play around and have fun!)

Next, I placed the front of my card on the non-inked side so that I could get the placement just right- I didn’t want ink to get on my project until it was begin embossed.  This is how it looked before going through my Cuttlebug.

and this is how it looked once embossed! All the ink is now IN the damask print- so pretty!!!

Of course I finished this up with some cardstock that I sanded to soften the look- and a sentiment from the Lollydoodle complements!

Spring/Summer CTMH Idea Book Reveal: Day 10

Day 10 already! The time is passing quickly and the orders are rolling in to the CTMH Idea book reveal party- have you ordered yet?  Remember you can order on my SHOP under the Idea Book reveal party and you will be entered in to the draw to win the HOSTESS REWARDS for the entire party!

Today I am going to show another layout for another workshop on the go kit- this one is Lollydoodle! How adorable is this layout of my daughter and her friends at gymnastics?!  I love the interesting cuts on this layout that make it so much more interesting than a basic layout full of square cuts!  This kit is one that you do need to purchase, or already own, the CTMH Cricut Artiste cartridge if you would like to complete it.  You can create the layout with the straight cuts if you like but the intricate ones are so much more fun!

Do you have any of our Cricut cartridges? Tell me below what you own, which cartridge is on your wish list and how you plan to get it.  I may just draw a lucky winner to win a special prize!

Spring/Summer CTMH Idea Book Reveal: Day 7

Oh my goodness- I am a little excited to show you today’s project and featured items!!! Of course welcome back to Day 7 of the CTMH Idea Book Reveals… and today’s project which not only features one of our great new products BUT an exclusive one!! You read that right- this one is exclusive and you can ONLY get it when you host a party!

WHAT?! NO FAIR!!

Nope, absolutely fair- maybe you don’t realize how easy and fun a party can be? If you live in Central Ontario (or sometimes even other parts as I like to travel) I will come to you and we can have a lovely home party OR a hostess-designed workshop- whatever you like! If you are not local don’t worry! I have something for you too! We could have an online Facebook party- they are sometimes even BETTER than an in house party as no one needs to worry about weather, finding sitters or getting dressed to leave the house!  Just contact me (and believe me you will WANT to!)  If you want to find out a little bit more about hosting please click on the “Be a Hostess” tab above.

Here is our super sweet project- a card featuring that exclusive item- the ‘Unicorn Dreams’ stamp set… it is too cute for words!!!

The card itself is pretty simple- I stamped the unicorn in hollyhock ink and stamped the sentiment over top in black ink.  I added some paper to the top and a strip of paper folded up across that for some dimension.  Then I finished it off with a few more of those sequins from the lollydoodle cardmaking workshop on the go kit!

Easy, cute and I so LOVE the quote!!!
