Papercrafting Party Supplies

birthday supplies

So I have a confession to make?

I am a bit of a ‘party mama’ – I love to decorate and match things for a party, especially when it means I can paper craft my party supplies! My daughter turns 3 this month and I have SO MUCH cute stuff planned for that! For now you will have to be satisfied with a set of birthday items that you could easily create for a party in your family- birthday, baby shower, wedding shower…. the possibilities are endless!

birthday kit candy tube

These are our treat tubes- perfect for the thank you favour or birthday party take-away.  Fill with a candy {I would have preferred something in a colour that matched but don’t keep much candy in the house) add some washi tape and a banner AND voila!

birthday kit card

Any party needs a matching invite OR a matching thank you card… I pulled through the colour scheme (especially the purple) to make this card.  The paper used is from our Confetti Wishes paper.

A cupcake box (oh YES!!) and another treat bag.  You can mix these and use whatever items you like. Cupcakes make cute gifts for someone special- even more special when they come in cute packaging!

The treat bag can be tied off as in this picture or left open and folded at the top. I give our cookies every year as our party favour (my sister in law makes the best cookies) and they fit perfectly in these bags! Both have elements from the Confetti Wishes paper collection and some more purple elements.

Minecraft Birthday Party (or how I use my CTMH for good… according to my son)

minecraft collage

I think if you have a boy between the ages of 7 and 12 then you probably know about Minecraft- like me you probably do not know much about it.  Before this birthday party I knew that it was a building game of some sort- like a virtual lego.  I also knew that it involved ‘creepers’, ‘zombies’ and the occasional lost pig…. AND that my son LOVED it! In fact, he pretty much spent every second he could playing it or watching videos about how to play it better- yikes!

Fast forward a few months and Austin is turning 10 and of course wants a Minecraft party- so I did research and put together a pretty decent party- he thought so anyway! For sure- my CTMH skills came in handy (and sometimes my CTMH products!)

Places I found inspiration- pinterest of course! I found printables through that avenue and printed them on Studio J so that I had nice photo quality signs and invitations for the party.  Candy bar – inspired by pinterest (this is a staple at my kid parties) and truly only came together after strolling through the aisles of the Bulk Barn.  Games? didn’t need to do ANY- they all brought their devices and either played (good old fashion do their-own-thing play or played mine craft).  Every boy at the party loved it and I had one super-happy 10 year old by the end!

This card was one I made for my Dad’s 56th birthday just a few weeks ago.  I love that it was simple yet turned out to be so cute!

banner card

I used some of our natural baker’s twine and overlapped pieces of our washi tape- the cut them to be in the shape of a pennant.  Since you can never have too much washi tape and it is so easy to use this was a great way to use some up!  I also stamped a simple sentiment on the bottom of the card in lagoon ink- the stamp is one of the exclusive stamp sets you receive in the Cricut Artiste collection.
