Father’s Day Gift Card Holder

I was inspired by a gift card holder that Christina made on http://christinathesassyscrapper.blogspot.com/. Using her directions I created the following gift card holders for Father’s Day (now I HAVE to buy gift cards for my Dad and husband!!). The directions to make them are also below.

First step is to cut your base cardstock to 4 1/4 by 11. Then score that piece at 3, 51/2 and 8 inches. After fold along the score lines so your piece looks as follows:

Next, add double sided adhesive the three edges on one of the inside pieces of your card- once that is done stick the two sides together.
You should now have a card shape that is as follows. Cut a 1/4 inch off the top of the inside piece (this creates the pocket for the gift card)- I started my cut a 1/4 of an inch from each edge.

Now you can decorate as above!! These are great for any kind of occassion – check out Christina’s blog for further ideas for your gift card holder!!

Day 6 and feeling AWESOME!!

Just a quick update – I am on day six of my workout program and feel really good. I am not super-sore and I think that has a lot to do with the fact that each day you are working out and streching different areas. I know that my self-confidence is up and I cannot wait to see some changes to my body- once I see them and can photograph them maybe I will post my before and after photos but not yet!!

Going WILD for Animal Cookies!!

If you have had the chance to purchase this set then you know just how cute it is!! The paper is fun and vibrant without being too loud or bright- just the perfect paper colours for fun summer layouts, baby layouts, toddler layouts for fun, funky cards!!
I made this card the other night at my team unit and meeting and believe me- I did get carried away with the accessories. But, it did not turn out too bad! The card is created using one of the new patterns from Wishes. The stamp set used is Sweet Baby. I also used prisma glitter, tulip brads, and 2 accessories from past connections club rewards.

“Own it” – Challenge to myself!!

Okay- so I like many women today, am greatly displeased with my body!! I would love it if I just looked and felt better. I am still at a spot though that I can turn this around before it gets much worse and yesterday I finally made the step to do just that.

My mother bought an exercise program called P90X- (you may have seen it on TV) and she never used it beyond day one. It is a series of DVDs that have you doing different workouts everyday for 90 days to a set program (there is one for women who just want to get lean- not all bulky with muscles). It seems to be a very intesnse program- I am on day two and feel the BURN!! (secretly I am thrilled with the burn but later when my arms no longer move I may be less thrilled!!). This is not a plug for the program- just a description of what I am using.

You may be wondering at this point how this fits into my blog- since it is a blog all about my CTMH life!!?? Well, I am set to go to leadership at the end of July and would love to go looking FABULOUS!! Really- who wouldn’t? Leadership is fantastic and I have a great time every year with all the great business and creative classes, seeing old friends, making new friends and checking out the sites at our location- this year it is in LONG BEACH!! This year though I thought I would try my hand at some of the artwork contests- this for me is a little daunting as I have only entered three CTMH contests before and never even got a runner up spot 🙁
One of the contests for this years leadership is to create two-page layout that represents the leadership theme of “Own it”- this can be done in any way that I interpret the theme.

I reflected on this for a long time and decided that the only thing that it really truly reflected on was the fact that I do not even “own” my own body- right now it is owned by the fast food restaurants and Lays potato chips!! So, I am taking back control and in doing this I will also be creating what I hope is a great theme for the layout that I will eventually create— and even if it does not win that will be okay because I will have conquered something far more important!!

Wish me luck!!

Some of the Many Reasons that being a CTMH consultant ROCKS!!

Every catalogue release my fabulous upline, Sarah Boddington, and myself hold a team stamp camp- these are open to consultants in our downline and their friends. This past May we decided to incorporate what had been a day long event into a weekend retreat! We had such a great time- in all we had about 40 ladies attend- we scrapbooked, learned techniques, created make and takes, entered contests and attended the awards ceremony. Above is a picture of our lovely groupof ladies (most of whom were customers- and a few of them have now become consultants!)

Below is a picture of one of the attendees, Kim- she won our layout contest for best layout created while at the weekend retreat- it was gorgeous!!

By far though the best part was that our weekend stamp camp not only enriched all of our lives, BUT we enriched the lives of others- everyone in attendance made donations to Operation Smile through a variety of ways- by the time everything was done we had raised enough money for SIX new smiles!! We even had one lady anonymously donate enough for one smile surgery! Thanks to all who came and participated- feel free to check out what Operation Smile is at http://www.operationsmile.org/

Below is a picture of one of the children helped through this very generous charity!!
